System Farming With Mother Nature
Seth Watkins farms about 3,000-acres near Clarinda, Iowa. He is a fourth-generation steward of his family’s heritage farm, which was founded in 1846. Until 1998, the operation focused on maximizing production to increase profit, but something didn’t feel right. In March of 1998, a nasty blizzard hit, and Watkins had a profound revelation. This wasn’t something he wanted to put his cattle through ever again. He wanted to build a production system that gave him happy cows.
