Besides being a 12-letter word – and a hard one to spell at that – anaplasmosis is a disease the beef industry shouldn’t take lightly. While this parasitic disease used to be more common in certain parts of the country, such as the Gulf Coast, other areas such as the Great Plains and the Midwest have seen an uptick in the number of cases in the last few years.
