For cattle on rough range that have to get out and look for forage, structure is more important.

Ranchers Want WOTUS Repealed Once and for All

The Environmental Protection Agency has extended the deadline to submit comments on the Waters of the U.S. Rule repeal effort. The EPA announced Thursday that it, along with the Army Corps of Engineers, will accept comment through September 27th. The original deadline for the comment period was set for August 28th. The EPA formally proposed to repeal the rule in late June.

The fact that it does not get easier is a good thing, but it is the hardest thing for our non-farm friends to understand. I saw a piece on the local news and the family said that they had gotten many responses back from the picture, some good, some not so good. I went back and read some of the posts and it was as I expected. Many posts were sympathetic, they had been there, felt the pain and understood. Others, ranged from disbelief to outright anger.

South Dakota cattle herd loses nine to anthrax

The South Dakota State Veterinarian has ruled anthrax is responsible for recent death loss in a cattle herd in southeastern Pennington County. Dr. Dustin Oedekoven says that at least 9 adult cattle died suddenly last week in the herd, which had not been vaccinated against anthrax.
