Branding season is upon us. The smell of burnt hair and calf scours. The loudness of the branding pot and the bellering cows. We haven’t started to brand yet here on the ranch, but will start that process within the next couple of weeks. Branding is becoming more and more of a controversial issue with those that are further removed from agriculture. Branding methods have also become controversial, as there are definite opinions on what way is best and most “traditional.”
