Ronnie Green grew up modestly on his family’s beef and sharecropping farm near Fincastle, Virginia. His family descended from the Scots-Irish immigrants who put down roots in the Shenandoah Valley in the 1700s. Fincastle itself was founded as an administrative seat for what was then the wide wilderness of colonial America.
