Local auction optimistic for strong market

The nation’s cattle inventory is the lowest since 1952, but demand for beef is driving the market to historical high prices.
"Not only is our market up, but the futures on fat cattle were up over $6 for the week and feeders were up around $4," said Charley Christensen, general manager at Producers Livestock Auction.
