Japan to Raise Age Limit for U.S. Beef Imports

Japan plans to raise the cattle age limit set for U.S. beef imports to 30 months from the current 20 months, the health ministry said Thursday.

The ministry said it will seek the opinion of the Cabinet Office’s Food Safety Commission on Monday on the risks involved in the deregulation.
