An Alachua man already in state prison for money laundering and investor fraud is facing more charges. Detectives say Kenneth Wayne Moon scammed 30 people from all across the country out of nearly a million dollars. Investigators say this happened during the time frame Moon was being prosecuted for committing the very same type of crimes.

Moon has a modest farm on the north end of Alachua County. But, sheriff’s deputies say the scam Moon was running was elaborate.

“He has conned individuals into investing into a cattle operation that he is supposedly running here in Alachua County. He would ask those investors for large amounts of money,” Sgt. Keith Faulk of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office explained.
